The 4 Pillars Of Feeding Ourselves
Hello LAUH365 Family.
Today we want to talk to you about 4 pillars that we consider builds up our “diet”. However, before starting, it is important to define what a healthy and balanced diet is. Surely, for many of you, good nutrition is clearly related to food, to what we eat in our day-to-day. I am sorry to tell you that this is not the case, a healthy and balanced diet goes further than what we eat each day, and this is the reason why we consider that these 4 pillars greatly influence our lifestyle.
- Interpersonal relations
- Physical activity
- Spiritual practice.
As you can see, feeding ourselves goes beyond what food is. If you think about it, these pillars really do is filling our soul, our mind, and our body, achieving harmony and synchronicity with life. Each experience that you live day-today, is filling you, and is what it builds up our well-being.
However, there are studies and research that confirm the close relationship between poor nutrition and personal dissatisfaction. What do I mean by this? Suppose you are having problems with your romantic partner, or at work. When we experience these situations, there are people, for example, who tend to overeat, not to feed the body itself, but actually to fill that “unhappiness”.
In fact, there are many cases where people wonder why they are not losing weight if they are eating well and healthy. The answer is simple, eating well does not necessarily mean being well. And when our soul is empty, our body will suffer the consequences, thus achieving an increase in weight, for example, or on other occasions, an abrupt weight loss. Either case is harmful to our health.
It is important to have clarify that everyone is the owner of their own life, and this is the reason why it depends on us to decide which are those pillars of feeding ourselves that we want to acquire. Many times, we feel pressured by our parents who want us to study a certain profession, and here the important thing is to understand if that profession that they want us to study is the one that makes us happy. Otherwise, if the answer is no, that decision will generate repercussions.
It seems important to me to touch on the subject of physical activity. In LAUH365 we have always been faithful believers that each body is a totally different universe one from each other, meaning, there will be people who need some activity that helps them lose weight, others that help them with their elasticity, others to lower sugar levels, among others. This is why it is so important to explore different exercise options until we find one that helps us create a habit and that we feel motivated to do it.
Finally, when we speak of “spiritual practices” we do not refer to the fact of going to mass, or doing yoga. Spiritual practice goes further than this. Is it really taking time out from your routine to do the hobbies that you enjoy doing, for example, cooking, painting listening to music, among many others. Those are activities that can fill our soul and our spirit.
So, the invitation here is to take a time out to reflect and analyze which have been those pillars we have decided to acquire in our life. If we consider that we must change them somehow, it is never too late to do it. We should be always open to explore new experiences that feeds our soul, our mind, our body, and our spirit.
